The Table Toolbar

There are many ways to use a table in FrontPage. Here is an explanation of the Tables Toolbar icons:

The pencil is for drawing a table. It can be freehand with uneven cells. The next icon is the eraser which can be used to erase unwanted lines.

The next group of 3 icons are for inserting rows, inserting columns, and for deleting cells.

The next pair of icons can be used to merge cells be removing borders or to split cells be adding borders.

The next group of 3 icons are used to align contents in the cells at the top, center, and bottom of the cell.

The next pair of icons are used to distribute either rows or columnns evenly.

The last icon is used to show the color palette for background colors.

Although the table is accurately portrayed in FrontPage Editor, this is how it looks in Internet Explorer 4.0:

Table Information Goes Off the Screen

If you have listed information in a table & you have created the web site using a computer with a wide margin, part of the text may be off the screen when viewed by smaller monitors. For example, if you have listed information for an event in a table and there is a lengthy description of the event, that description may not be completely seen. To correct this problem, revise your table properties.

The event will be held on Tuesdays throughout the month of November.

Click anywhere in the table. Use Table>Table Properties. The dialog box looks like this:

If your table has a specific width of 100 percent, you can revise that to 80 or 90 percent. You can also change the alignment from center to default or left alignment.
