Projects
  • Development of a Java program as a framework for running models; studying alife models - everything from CA and dynamic systems to GAs and evolutionary algorithms - in order to gain fruitful insights into the underlying processes.
  • Software Release Process: Design and implementation of the process of gathering software bundles from source control, creating software installation programs and the installers, and the delivery and deployment via CD and web, all on many flavours of Unix and windows. Technical support, and debugging.
  • Creation of a GIS database (arc/info) of six Iowa watersheds, including managing assistants, programming, analyses, computer set-up and networking, and the creation of innumerable maps.
  • Graphics and flow analysis of stream data, as part of the EPA EMAP project.
  • Analyses of acid rain data comparing different US regions, resulting in publication.
  • Scientific calculator emulation on handheld computer.
  • Development of software package to provide visual feedback to directional oil well drillers.
