Old Bones Rise
40" x 30", oil on canvas, 2018

While on a hike I came across an old weathered and chewed up elk antler. I inherited the mask, carved into a whale's backbone disk. The combination conveys a mixing of energy that is well beyond my comprehension, yet, it is what compelled the painting.
