The unquestionable bible of earthly hot springs is Gerald A. Waring's classic tome: Thermal Springs of the United States and Other Countries of the World - A Summary. Published in 1965 by the U. S. Geological Survey, this 383 page book was long out-of-print but is now once again available for purchase from the U. S. Geological Survey. Much of the information in this volume is quite out-of-date but it remains required reading for the dedicated hot springs afficionado.
NEED SOME IMMEDIATE GRATIFICATION?: You can download the entire volume or Table of Contents (Adobe Acrobat format). The book can also be downloaded from the U. S. Geological Survey (DjVu format), viewed, and printed. If you take a look around, you'll also find some other hot springs-related reports at this site that are available online.
