LIGHTWEIGHT BACKPACKING: LESS STUFF = MORE FUN

The above guideline holds true for many aspects of life but seems to be particularly relevant for those aging hikers among us (myself included) that still want to stay comfortably on the trail long after 60.

My emphasis here is on lightweight backpacking in the western U.S., the Southwest, and Hawaii, my familiar territories. PCT and AT thru-hikers and hardcore ultralight high-mileage trekkers may find some things of interest here but that's not where my focus is aimed. For all the rest - enjoy.
