Merino Wool Pre-Felts

These pre-felts are made from white needle-punched merino. They are used as needle felt backgrounds (for dry felting) or to cut up as pre-felt shapes for wet felting. Some people like to sew them together and then full them to create 3-D shapes for hats, sculptures, vessels, etc.  Can be dyed for color, including tie resist techniques such as shibori. These are the pre-felts used by Pat Spark as the background for her wall hangings. (As described in Pat's new book: Watercolor Felt Workbook and in the chapter Pat wrote in Anne Vickrey's book (Needle Felting, Art Techniques and Projects).  See pictures of  Pat's art work, which has used these Pre-Felts as the base for the needled images in the "Watercolor Series" she's doing.

(NOTE: Because of a size change in the pre-felt materials we receive from the manufacturer, we can no longer offer the 22" or 10" sizes. 5/20/2008)
